Image Adjustments

The Image Adjustments pane is used for applying offset, gain, gamma, and contrast adjustments to monochrome and color images.

Adjustments can be applied to the live image, the live SDI video output, recorded takes, and SLOW files.

Adjustments are stored as metadata, and do not modify the raw pixel values. Image adjustment values for live images, takes, and SSD takes are stored inside the camera. They will persist even if the software is closed and re-opened.

tip

In order for image adjustments for SLOW files to persist after re-opening, the file must be re-saved.

caution

Image adjustments are applied permanently to pixel data when images are saved to file formats other than .SLOW.

Channel selection

Adjustments

Adjustments are applied in the order listed starting with offset.

Adjustment	Range	Default	Definition
Offset	-1.00 → 1.00	0.00	Shifts pixel values by a fixed amount, brightening or darkening the image
Gain	0.10 → 10.00	1.00	Multiplies pixel values to adjust the overall brightness, lowers saturation point (lower DR), increases overall contrast
Gamma	0.10 → 10.00	1.00	Non-linear adjustment that multiplies midtone pixel values, increasing contrast in shadows and decreasing contrast in highlights
Contrast	-1.00 → 1.00	0.00	Repositions white and black points to increase/decrease slope of output values, altering contrast

note

All adjustments are relative to the bit-depth of the image.

Reset button

Pressing the Reset button will set all adjustments on the currently selected channel to their default value.

caution

Changing any of the above Adjustments or pressing the Reset button while RGB is selected for Channel will override any previously set adjustment on each color channel.
