F Mount
IRIS Ring
The iris control ring adjusts the aperture of the lens. Turn the ring clockwise to open the aperture, and counter-clockwise to close down the aperture to the f-stop set on the lens.
Iris control acts as an override to the aperture set on the lens itself and will set the aperture to the lens f-stop minimum when fully rotated.
Some lenses lack the rear control lever, so the iris control ring has no effect
Mounting
- Turn the iris control ring all the way counterclockwise until stop is reached.
- Remove the camera body cap by turning counterclockwise.
- Remove the rear lens cap by turning counterclockwise.
- Align the mark on the lens to 12:00, then insert.
- Turn counterclockwise until the release pin engages and stop is reached.
Always support large / heavy lenses independently from the camera. Follow the lens manufacturers’ guidelines.
Optionally close the shutter before removing the body cap or lens to protect the sensor.
Unmounting
- Push release pin in and turn clockwise until lens releases.
- Replace the rear lens cap by turning clockwise.
- Replace the camera body cap by turning clockwise.
